The Spirit of Christmas

Of course with Christmas there is always the thing called “The Spirit of Christmas”, something that makes Christmas, Christmas. Everyone has their own idea of such topic, mostly are: Sharing, giving, caring, hope and LOVE. It is a day for families to come together, sharing home cooked meals and chatting at the dinner table; which is, yeah really what Christmas is about. It is also about the birth of our Savior. Him coming here to relieve us of our sins, as a symbol of God showing how much He love us.

We all have our point of views of what Christmas is about, for me it is about being with the people you really care about whether you are related by blood or not. Together sharing laughter, stories, giving gifts, the joy on their faces is the most precious moments for me. A somewhat contagious feeling if you think about it.

Receiving gifts from them is like saying “Hey I remembered you. I cared enough to go out and took the time to make or buy you something because you are special to me”. Because material gifts are a symbol of caring not just shallow superficial things like some people may see it, at least if you look at it that way.

With all the commotion in our family we find a way around it in a way that we still have time for each other, spending Christmas with together. Making plans to make everyone happy and not feel alone on Christmas. For Christmas is the time to be together.

Magandang Pagsasamahan Tungo sa Maayos at Maunlad na Lipunan

Unity is a short word indeed but a word that is easier said than accomplished. To have unity there must be oneness in everything and everyone, a good relationship with one another. A place where people working together for a single goal, helping each other without a shred of suspicion or having a thought of getting something in return. People are at peace and are equal, in spite of their differences. From our differences we should find one common thing that can bind us all into one great enormous ball of togetherness.

Oh come on! Like that’s going to happen. What are you, living in a place where everything is candy and sweet, where you can see rainbows and butterflies everywhere you go? Where people are always smiling and laughing even though nothing is funny; people riding on a technicolor unicorn? If you said yes to all the questions then you really need to see a psychiatrist or a therapist.

Anyway, not saying such thing is impossible (talking about the unity part) I do believe that unity can be present in this world. Of course through observation, if there is a group united then there must a group that opposes it; therefore creating conflict between the two because of disagreement, not exactly a good picture. Another thing which is almost magical in a way is when a person communicates with another human being and getting to know them which usually leads to love and become united through marriage then they fight and get divorced but later realize that they are better of separated and through that they agree on one thing. In some cases they realize they were wrong and get back together. But by just getting to know someone and becoming friends even with your differences and overcoming them is another one that is amazing. Even great enemies, through communication can agree on something and possibly become friends, because through that you get to have an idea of another person’s perspective, how the world looks to them and the things they go through. Letting you enter a part of their world is a very rare welcoming feeling. Slowly gaining trust along the way. At the same time you will both feel that you fit in in this big world. Isn’t that what we want?

After sometime unity can be formed, as you can see unity takes time to create. If only we took the time to get to know people, even just one for a start then unity can start to build.

Friendship and love, a combination not everyone might think is cool though some might find it gross. But the truth in it is, it is all we need. Through it, it can form a bond, giving us strength and motivation to do things we thought we can never do. It is a rare feeling and chance that not everypne would care to appreciate, until it is taken away from them.

Unity, a thing that love gives for love can bear many things both good and bad. Unity, that thing that can lead us to a peaceful and bright future, such an astonishing dream, a true world of oneness. Such a world can be possible if YOU just lend a hand.

(AWE)SEM-BREAK

I don't really know how to describe this sem-break I just had, except maybe for the word...AWESOME.

I spent it with the most awesome people in my world, Ate Jyx and Kuya Raffy. It Is the most perfect sandwich combination, without one it won't taste the same. Maybe it would but it would feel that there will be something missing, so yeah.

They made everything so fun, full of laughter and silliness. Even just walking for hours was far from boring. Really full of enjoyment.

Though this sem-break started having some hang over from school, like rush project and [special] periodical test; it went to a smooth course from "bleh" to "yeah!".

Like any lazy teenager, I mostly spent the days in front of the computer, chatting, and sleep whenever I wanted. Though it may sound I mostly did nothing but i assure you, I didn't. My imagination was working full force [oh! how I miss it] those days which made it more exciting. I had bunch of ideas that I will do whenever I have time and will definitely make time for. I'm really proud and happy of the things I did. Like reading a book I hardly had time for, I'm almost at the brink of finishing it. I had time to watch anime, listening to those Japanese dialogue with English subtitles [how nostalgic]. I actually caught up with the chapters of the Manga I was reading. Drawing? It's been a long time since I drew something on my sketchpad and it seems that I have forgotten how to >,>.

Though most of the time i craved for Halo-halo, I don't know why but unfortunately it is only available during Summer break... awww.

My sister and I fixed up our bike and took turns riding it under the rain, from Vigan to Mindoro. Everything was so cool and windy and wet. After that onto the Movies we went! It was a about a Despicable man.

Obviously I can't put everything I did this Sem-break because I don't think words would be enough, with all the mix emotions. It was really one of a kind.

"Now! where is my bottomless ice cream?!" <-- Wouldn't it be nice? XD

START, 2nd Grading, END!

This grading period went by like lighting. Not the sense like everything was easy but actually it was the other way around. There were so many things happening it was so hard to stop, we must do our best to keep up with almost everything; lessons, homework, projects and ECA.

I wouldn’t say there were no problems but fortunately each of them was taken care of with the help of everyone and pure DETERMINATION!(kinda -.-''). This grading period I did my best to keep up with everything. One subject in particular was in ICT. This grading period we learned about HTML File, which was for me, really interesting. We learned about different tags and how to make an HTML File, though I was somewhat familiar with some of the lessons. It was a pleasure learning more about it.

This next grading period I won't let things pile up, I will stay on top of things! Go! Go! Go! XD

In defense.

Breaking Barriers through English

Language is communication of meaning in any way; medium that is expressive.

Communication is the key to a successful anything in this world. Through this a nation can understand each other which help a nation progress. With different kinds of languages around the world it is hard to keep up with all of them; it makes it hard to befriend other people from other nation. To help with this confusion, English became the international language.

With English all nations became one and the vast world seems smaller. We are able to communicate with people from China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, England, Spain and other wonderful countries all having unique cultures and history to share; getting to know each other to create peace. Learning about each other’s customs and their philosophies gives a wide perspective of their world and ours.

Through all these communication we can’t help but get involve with these people, see each other’s perspective and caring for them. After some time we tend to learn their own language, get to know their lives and become part of their lives. Understand their feelings and the situations they go through and in the process help them overcome these difficulties.

We can all become one and help each other with problems and share happiness. Each one is contributing in progress and in creating even a little amount of peace for each nation, coming together to make an ideal world.

With a wise usage of the international language this can be done after some time and can continue.

What a positive perspective…

Filipinnovation the Way Forward

Keep moving forward!

Which is to say that one must not linger in the past but to greet the new day as a new beginning, a clean slate; a day filled with new experience and discoveries, where one looks into the future with a smile. Regretting and thinking of what could have been is a waste of time, we must face the future and figure out how to make it better for us.

Living in the Philippines I have noticed a Pinoy’s creativity to work; combining creativity and science in making something that will improve the future of the Philippines and maybe the world.
Some aren’t aware that most discoveries and inventions came from Filipinos, maybe because our government can’t support these projects due to some financial problems and so these inventors go to other countries for support. As a result these countries get the credit and leave the Philippines hanging. Hence you must give a little to get something back.

We must not be afraid of the new inventions for the future for it is inevitable, moving forward to improve our world. Finding solutions to solve problems that will help everyone and everything which could lead to a better future for the next generation.

Change is something that can happen. Change happens all the time and it is all around us, we just never took the time to notice it. People keep talking about changing the world but I’m afraid that is easier said than done. I guess it doesn’t have to be if we just keep our word and be the example because change happens when we decide.

My Teacher, My Hero

We, students sometimes take our teachers for granted. For some, teachers may seem annoying with their endless assignments, difficult projects and boring everyday lectures whether related to values or their subject. All the pressure they put on our shoulders which may sometimes seem unrelated or even exaggerated.

There so many kinds of teachers like strict, kind, generous, with high standards, also those teachers who tend to talk a lot just to show their intelligence but is often far from the point and so on. But that's the beauty of it; we all have our own unique teachers which makes them memorable as we move on without lives.

When you look at it, our teachers are like ordinary modern day heroes. They prepare lectures which they will impart to us the following day, even if making the lectures will take all night. Being patient, understanding, and supportive and making us feel at home with their presence; acting like our second parents. They become part of our lives, part of molding our personality and behaviour. They help our parents in guiding us to the right direction so that in the end we can stand on our own two feet.

So whatever our teachers may seem, that's just part of their job. They all have their own way of molding us into better individuals whatever we may like their methods or not.

Thank you Teachers!

Going back to the 1st Grading

New school year, another opportunity for us to gain knowledge and wisdom. New classroom, same classmates, same school and new teacher who are willing to impart what they know to the next generation.

At the beginning of the new school year, it starts with the first grading period. It is now August and the 1st grading period is about to reach an end as the periodical test is drawing near.

So what have I learned this grading period? Well I am happy to say I have learned many things in this grading period. Not just in the lessons but I’m also learning about responsibility, respect, sacrifice and hardwork. I’m sure I will continue learning about this as I go on to the next grading period. Gained new experiences; like creating, editing, designing and writing my own blog. Also, learning about the history of the Internet.

This grading period I have encountered many challenges because during this grading period I joined a contest first was the poster making contest, during the nutrition month celebration. I did my best and won second place. Then taken by surprise I was asked to represent our school to a mural contest. With almost no experience in painting on a wall, I did what I can to make the mural great but unfortunately I didn’t win.

Even though I lost I will not give up. I know that challenges are a part of life and it can come in any form. Fail or not I take it as a new experience to learn from and to remember.

Moving on, I will continue learning and gaining experience. Through this I can shape my life to success and help me go the right way. With the help of everyone around me, I know I will be okay.

Buwan ng Wika

“Sa Pangangalaga ng Wika at Kalikasan, Wagas na Pagmamahal ang Talagang Kailangan.”

The statement above is the theme of this year’s Buwan ng Wika. We celebrate Buwan ng Wika every August because it reminds us that even though English is the international language and is commonly used by most Filipinos, we must not forget that we have our own dialect which is Tagalog. That we must be encouraged to speak and use it.

This month we celebrate the said occasion with various activities related to being a Pilipino. Like poster slogan, essay writing, quizzes, jingles, and the famous Balagtasan. With these activities to be done it will help us realize the importance of Tagalog in the process.

Tagalog is the one of the things that makes us who we are. It gives us identity, when people hear the dialect tagalog; the first thing that will come to their head is: “Hey that guy/girl is a Pilipino.”

We must be proud! Filipinos are known for many things. They are humble, hardworking creative, smart, hospitable and are able to smile and laugh despite all their problems.

In this celebration it keeps the memory of what the early Pilipinos did for our country, those Pilipinos we now call heroes. Those Pilipinos fought for our country, to bring back our freedom. They gave their lives in fighting the colonizers from taking over our country. They did what they had to do to bring back what was rightfully ours, brave enough to stand up and say: Enough! They attained freedom one way or the other.

That’s what this celebration is all about; it is a celebration that will make us proud to be Pilipinos.

Sa Pagkaing Tama at Sapat, Wastong Timbang ni Baby and Katapat

You’re PREGNANT!

Every couple gets excited when they find out that they’re going to be parents. No news would top that, it’s the happiest day of their lives. Especially for a mother, the feeling of carrying life inside her body; being part of God’s work. It’s the most magical thing.

So yeah, you’re pregnant and you’re overwhelmed by it. Then something snapped you out of it which is what are you going to do now? How are you going to take care of the baby inside you? And that is the part where you’re going to need some help.
If you think taking care of a baby is child’s play, well sorry to burst your bubble because it’s not. Well, it is in certain occasions but the rest needs some getting used to. You should keep in mind that you’re not just taking care of yourself like when you were before you were pregnant; you are now taking care of yourself and your baby who is inside you. So what you do with yourself affects your baby.

A good sign of having a healthy baby is when your baby weighs the right weight for a normal baby which is 6 pounds, 2 ounces (2,812 grams) and 9 pounds, 2 ounces (4,173 grams). It is also a confirmation that you did a great job while your baby was still in your womb which is very fulfilling for a parent.
So for you to attain this, a mother should in general take care of herself and watch what she eats. Consulting a doctor to make sure you are in the right track, especially in taking vitamins and medications. Since what you do affects your baby, you should also be concerned about your weight; weighing 25 to 30 pounds is just about right for a mother-to-be.

This is the time where diet or losing weight and depriving yourself of food are to be ignored. Balanced diet is the first way of being healthy; when you’re pregnant you should know what to eat. One must eat four or more servings of dairy food each day; it gives calcium for the baby. Make sure the food you are eating is properly cooked, if not it may cause infections. To avoid infections and bacteria, proper hygiene must also be observed and having a clean environment; washing the fruits and vegetables before eating it. If possible, you must also control yourself in eating sweets and drinking coffee. Don’t forget to never get dehydrated, drink plenty of water.

Exercise can also help ease discomfort during pregnancy. Avoid lifting heavy object though, standing long period of time and radiation. Relaxation and avoiding stress can also make a happy and healthy baby.

Smoking, drugs and drinking alcohol is a big NO. If it wasn’t allowed when you weren’t pregnant, it is certainly not allowed that you have an innocent baby in your body.

So yeah, you can say that it is hard to take care of a baby. The sleepless nights, pain throughout the whole process, the things you cannot do, uncomfortable feeling when you’re pregnant. Even after all that you know you’re not alone; you have everyone by your side.

And when your healthy new born baby is warm wrapped around your arms, gripping your finger with his/her tiny little hand, smiling at you as if feeling welcomed into the world; you will feel that all you’ve done and all you went through is all worth it. Bringing a baby into the world, thinking how lucky you are and wondering how something so small and delicate brings so much happiness to everyone.

Dear Mr. President...

First of all, I would like to congratulate you for being the new president. Also, I would like to tell you that you are a very brave and a tad crazy man. I don't mean to disrespect or anything but I really admire how you fully took the responsibility of being the president knowing that you will inherit the previous president's problems. your perseverance is exquisite.

We all hope that you will really change our country and make it progress. I can only imagine how hard it must be to run a whole country; leading millions of people, giving them jobs, educating them, a roof over their heads, feeding the hungry, taking care of their health. Most of all, you give them the most important thing...

HOPE. something to believe in, that there will be a better tomorrow through your leadership, where the faintest sound can be heard over the loudest ones. a reason to keep going in spite of the everyday challenges of life.

You are a man that represents a country, what you do will reflect on what kind of country you lead. You are about to enter a world where it's hard to distinguish an ally from an enemy and often the one being blamed; where no one is ever contented. Surrounded by temptation, betrayal and some things might not be what they seem; everything you stand for will be put to the test. Well we're not asking you to be perfect because you are still human. Even the most powerful man can feel weakness sometimes, and when that happens your family will support you and the whole nation will be more than happy to lend their strength.

So in the end, thanks you! We hope that the things you promised during the elections were more than just words that disappear as quickly as spoken.
